Setil Alkol (Cetyl Alcohol) kozmetikte krem, losyon ve saç kreminde sıkça kullanılan yağ alkolüdür. Kıvam artırıcı ve stabilizatör olarak görev yapar, ürünlere yumuşak ve kremamsı bir doku kazandırır. Nemlendirici ve yumuşatıcı (Emollient) etkisi vardır, saçtaki dolaşmayı azaltır ve taramayı kolaylaştırır. Kullanım oranı genellikle %1–5 arasıdır. Yağ fazında eklenir, 60–70°C’de eritildikten sonra formülasyona katılır. Tüm cilt tipleri için güvenlidir ve çoğu yağ ile emülgatörle uyumludur.
