Cocamidopropyl Betaine 45% kozmetikte Hindistan cevizi yağından türetilmiş amfoterik yüzey aktif madde olarak kullanılır. Şampuan, duş jeli, yüz temizleyiciler ve bebek ürünlerinde yaygındır. Hafif temizleyici özelliğe sahiptir, köpüğü artırır ve SLS/SLES gibi anyonik yüzey aktiflerin cilt üzerindeki tahrişini azaltır. Zengin ve yumuşak köpük sağlar, güçlü temizleyicilerin neden olabileceği kuruluk ve tahrişi düşürür, hassas ciltler ve bebek ürünleri için uygundur. Kullanım oranı genellikle %4 – %15 aktif madde şeklindedir; ticari formu %45’lik çözelti olduğundan istenen orana ulaşmak için su ile seyreltilir. Su fazına eklenir ve hazırlık sırasında aşırı köpük oluşmaması için yavaş ve nazik şekilde karıştırılır. Anyonik (SLES gibi) ve katyonik (saç kremi bileşenleri gibi) yüzey aktiflerle uyumludur ve önerilen oranlarda cilt ve saç için güvenlidir.
